Bishop Letter of Gratitude & Appeal for Victims of Typhoon Ondoy

To Our Esteemed Parish Priests, Religious Men and Women and Lay people

RE: Appeal for Typhoon and Flood Victims

The Love and Peace of Jesus!
Please accept my sincere appreciation and deep gratitude for your immediate and generous response to my appeal lat Sunday, Sept 27 after the typhoon ONDOY left many people hungry, homeless, and some dead. The good Lord knows how much I value your kindness and goodness. I am deeply touched to know that some of you even went immediately to our badly hit parish communities to attend to their needs and others tried to reach out to them by sending food stuff, clothing, mineral water, etc. to the Chancery. The recipients of your generosity both our parish priests and the typhoon victims felt God’s love and consoling hand through you. I would like to continue our appeal in their behalf. Some of them have been asking for construction materials. The second phase of our assistance is to help them rebuild not just their lives but also their homes. In line with this, we will have a second collection so that we can assist them. Please be as generous as you can. They need our assistance to build their homes again. Let us help them please.

Thank you in advance for your generous help. The good Lord will reward you a hundredfold. Please send your donations to the Chancery or through your parish priest.

Let us continue to be united in these trying times, in this time of disaster. God bless you for your good heart!

Very Sincerely yours,
Most Rev. Honesto F. Ongtioco, DD
Bisgop of Cubao
