Re: Solidarity Fund and Relief Operations for the Victims of Typhoon Reming
Dear Rev. Monsignori, Fathers, Brothers and Sisters:
Peace be with you!
By now you should have received the first appeal made by our Bishop, Most Rev. Honesto F. Ongtioco, D.D. as regard the Solidarity Fund for the victims of Typhoon Reming. We would like to reiterate this appeal and we hope that you could extend this to your parishioners this coming Sunday December 10, 2006. Donations and contributions can be done either by a second or special collection in all masses especially in parishes which have not yet conducted such an appeal last Sunday.
We also askyou to appeal fro donations in kind which are badly needed in the affected areas like the Bicol Region (especially Albay Province), Quezon and Mindoro. Upon inquiry from the different dioceses affected we learned that they are badly in need of the following: tents, blankets, clothes, cooking utensils, drinking water, food (easy to cook) and the like.
The financial donations we will gather will be distributed to the different dioceses proportionately according to their needs. We were able to do this with the funds we gathered for the Prelature of Infanta and also in the Diocese of Maasin.
We hope for your immediate response to this appeal so that we can immediately coordinate and send the much needed valuable contributions to the affected dioceses before Christmas.
Thank you very much, I remain,
Sincerely in the Lord,
REV. FR. RAMON N. ELORIAGA
